Ex-asthmatic, ex-agoraphobic. Everything that worked for me, I trained in and now provide the shortcuts to health and well-being I wanted decades ago. I also create affirmations posters using a new language pattern that bridges the gap between where you are and where you want to be.
Over the last few years I have also found myself in the position of 'the therapist's therapist'. Mentoring newcomers to NLP and Reiki, and creating a workshop on self-nurturing for givers. This has a particular focus on avoiding burnout. It's not just a matter of 'energy vampires', although the sort of client you attract has an effect. At a practical level it's the way therapists create rapport. Done with the positive intention of making the client feel heard and valued, it often back-fires, luring the therapist into matching the state of the person they are working with. There are ways to do it safely that honours the intention while keeping the therapist centred and powerful.
