Background:: Simon Barham - Who I am, what I do ....

I am professionally qualified with 26 years service with Barclays Bank. I have the experience of dealing with the mortgage / remortgage requirements of Barclays customers for 15 years and 4 years experience of working as a self employed Mortgage Consultant.

I am CeMAP qualified and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and have vast experience of helping all sorts of borrowers. I spent 11 years helping Barclays Premier clients earning £100,000+ per annum and 3 years helping clients who do not, for whatever reason, have a good credit history. This means I feel comfortable helping all sorts of borrowers, rather than one particular group.

My current role is particularly enjoyable, as we offer products from the whole market for mortgages and insurance products from a wide range of insurers. I love to meet people and take some time to get to know their individual needs, goals and preferences. I will then conduct detailed research to find the best deal to fit my client’s requirements.

I built up good relationships with very experienced Corporate Managers during my time with Barclays. Many of these Managers have moved on to other Financial Institutions. This means I can also help clients with Commercial Mortgage propositions and Business Banking. I have been pleased to save clients and / or their businesses money by finding them a better deal for their Commercial Mortgages. This is possible because many of my contacts work for Banks that do not have the cost of running a branch network and are able to reflect this in their pricing structure.

In addition, colleagues at my office are able to help with investments and pensions advice, tax efficient Corporate planning and insurances for Businessloans and key business personnel.

I work on a mobile basis and can meet clients at a location of their choice. My service includes being able to give full advice and recommendations and helping clients with any paperwork. I will then liaise with product providers until everything goes through.

I pride myself on the level of personal service I offer and most of my new clients now come from referrals from existing clients and local professionals. My aim is to provide you with such good advice and service that you will be pleased to refer friends, family, colleagues and clients who you feel I will be able to help.

We like to show our appreciation to clients and professionals who are good enough to introduce a new customer to us. When the new client’s business goes through, we are happy to pay the introducer 10% of our income from the deal. ( 20% on the whole amount if over £1,000 )
